There are lots of sites on the web covering diabetes, but you have to check who is sponsoring the site in order to make an informed decision as to whether you are being given the best information to help you stay off drugs.  Call me a cynic but I find it difficult to believe that a drug company, who makes their money (billions of £'s) out of the sale of drugs, is going to give me advice on how to stay off drugs.   With herbs and homoeopathy you can choose where you buy them and with herbs you can grow your own or gather them from the wild.  No one consortium has control over them.

The internet has been, and continues to be, a pain in the neck for drug companies.  You can now obtain information that was never previously available.  You can get beyond the drug company propaganda and find out the real facts. You no longer have to go in to the doctors, like a sheep to the slaughter.  You can go armed with facts and information.  You will probably be amazed at how little a lot of  doctors know about the drugs that they hand out and about nutrition.

Not only can web sites be biased but also literature given by doctors and charities.  Take a look at the literature and see who is sponsoring it: usually the drug companies.  I regularly come across advice on the lines of: 'Do you mistakenly think that sugar is forbidden?', Telling someone with diabetes to take sugar is like telling someone who has hit their thumb with a hammer, to carry on hitting it with a hammer and it will still get better.  Complete madness.

One book that I must recommend as essential reading for all diabetics, in fact for anyone who consumes sugar, is a book called Sugar Blues by William Dufty.  This book is available from online book stores such as Amazon and is available in paperback for only £4.01.

If you know of any good sites on diabetes and alternative therapies, I would be very grateful if you could email me at diabetesnaturally@telco4u.net .
